With the support of German funds a settlement for demobilized guerilla fighters of the Tigray Liberation Front was built in the north Ethiopian lowlands close to the border to Sudan and Eritrea from 1994 onwards. The strategic location, the planning and administration structures as well as the everyday life in Danscha reveal the military background of the project.
